Thomas Jefferson and others of his time held certain truths to be self-evident. Be assured that those truths were not truths because men of stature said that they were. No, indeed! Men of stature said that they were truths because they were truths! And they still are, and they will always be! If I may re-iterate, “all men (humans, not just males!) are created equal” – created equal, not guaranteed to be equal after creation – what happens then is up to the individual; “and endowed by their Creator (here’s a CLUE!) with certain unalienable (look it up!) rights; that among these are life (no murdering, even by a powerful tyrant!) liberty (not something to be expected under a MORE omniscient government, but under a LESS omniscient one) and the pursuit of happiness”. Notice that there is no guarantee of happiness, but simply the right to PURSUE happiness.

Now, to the question at hand. If these are unalienable rights, with which all mankind is endowed, who is it who has done the endowing?? Is this a question that can be even considered, not to mention answered, without regard to religious belief? How then can one propose to remove religion from American life? I submit that it cannot.

The American system of a republic governed by the rule of law as summarized in the preamble to the document which constitutes the supreme law of the land, the set of ideas upon which the American Nation is founded, cannot be divorced from religion. It cannot.

Good job on this article especially on this President’s day and one of our greatest Presidents. Just 180 Degrees out from our President of today. Maybe we can get back to a good President in our next one. May God help us as we search the Bible and make the right descions in the days ahead. Keep it up.

Of course your comments are spot-on, except that I would say the administration is not proceeding with blinders, they are proceeding with the assumption that the blinders are on US. I am convinced that at least some of them know perfectly well what they are doing

I agree with you on this. It was a socialist program from the beginning.
One way to get the DC crowd to fix things would for them all to be put into the social security program and no other retirement program. You can bet then it would get fixed.
We could go on for months about how the “citizens” of this great country could fix the problem.

I agree with you. If the “Government” would get out of our way and cut the regulations the new business would be cropping up all over. The “LEGAL” citizens of this country would want to invest in a business and hire employees. But the only way that is going to happen is to vote out everyone who is up for election next year. If the citizens do this then those in DC will get the message.
As you I can go on and on about where to cut spending. It is not hard but because of the elected officials are so indebted to so many groups for money given to campaigns they do now want to balance the budget.
We as voters must take some responsibility for this mess because we did not keep and eye on the DC crowd. We let them get away with it and did nothing to stop them.
We must all get up get involved and stay involved.

Just read your article and tend to agree with you. To take it a step further, Arab leaders are going to have to do something drastic to maintain their power.
I don’t know, but here is something to think about. Are we on the verge of a world war? Arab countries decide to attack Israel to divert attention away from the unrest in their country and develop a sense of patriotism and jihad. We and several European countries defend Israel. Pakistan joins the Arabs to appease their fundamentalist base. India attacks Pakistan for a host of reasons……..and so it begins.

Food for thought.
