Personal Protection In the Home
Course Introduction
In today’s world the news routinely reports on home invasions and break-ins. Who among us has thought out what we would do in case of a home invasion or we come home and discover a burgler in the house? This is a world where “when seconds count, the police are minutes away.”
The NRA Basics of Personal Protection Inside the Home Course continues where the Basic Pistol or First Steps course leaves off. This course discusses different methods, and mindset, of protecting the home. It is not intended to give students “the answer,” but rather to explore a variety of options, not all of which will involve the use of a weapon. Each situation is different and must be judged in its own context. However, if the use of a firearm is warranted, this course will teach various techniques to give the students a flexible range of options. These options will include investigating the appropriate technique for the individual.
Students taking this course must be experienced shooters and be able to demonstrate safe gun handling and competency in its use.
The Inside course uses numerous dry-fire and live-fire exercises to practice and hone shooting skills.
Course Eligibility (per NRA requirements):
