Course Introduction

The NRA Basic Pistol course discusses the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required in owing and using a pistol safely.

This is not a concealed carry course but satisfies training requirements for a Colorado Concealed Handgun permit.

Course Description

This course covers:

1. Safety aspects of using and handling a pistol
2. Parts of a pistol
3. Different types of pistols
4. Components of a pistol cartridge
5. Malfunctions
6. Fundamentals of pistol shooting
7. Range commands
8. Shooting positions
9. Cleaning and care of a pistol

While not part of the NRA course, an attorney gives a discussion on Colorado firearms laws.

Cost

The cost for this course is $150.
